Manchester United plotting move for Gareth Bale?

Sometimes I feel that writing transfer stories need greater imagination than creating a good plot for a classic thriller story. Add Manchester United to your plot, rest (business part) will take care of itself.
Recently Jorge Mendes claimed that his client Cristiano Ronaldo will not join Manchester United or for that matter any other club in the world. Ronaldo has a release clause of €1bn and wants to end his career at Real Madrid, which puts an end to the endless rumours surrounding his future.
Barcelona Slump To Defeat As Bale Lifts Real Manchester Uniteds attempt to seal €100m Real Madrid deal
So, who’s next? Gareth Bale. The world’s record signing transfer who was linked with United before he joined Real Madrid.
Forget about the fact that he is nicely settled at his new club, he has been producing good performances for them, and he is treated as a key player (B-B-C combo); Bale was a United target once and therefore the Red Devils will attempt to sign the Welshman for a world record transfer fee at the end of the season. You see, imagination is the key for writing transfer stories.
To be fair to the UK tabloid, the hyper-link I gave, they do mention that Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti “is open to letting him (Bale) leave at the end of the campaign” citing they got this piece of info from Spanish press. It would have been easier for us to track back and do some research on it, had they hyper-linked the Spanish report in their article, because, we didn’t come across anything like that in the Madrid press in the past few months.
Now comes the interesting part. Real Madrid are thought to be a long term admirer of David de Gea. The Manchester United goal keeper has been in sensational form in the past 18 month or so and rightfully has earned his selection for the Spain national team. Madrid based newspaper Marca reports that should Iker Casillas (contract till 2017) leaves the club, the Los Blancos would attempt to sign De Gea. Fair enough.
They say De Gea is happy at the moment at Manchester, but a possible move to Madrid can’t be ruled out, as he has not renewed his present contract, which runs out in 2016.
So, two parallel stories running side by side. One with a more logical approach to it, and another a complete garbage. Catalan newspaper Sport find it interesting, and they club the two stories together adding hyperbole with a connotation of ‘war’ brewing between the two European giants. Crux of their article is: United want Bale (price quoted €100m) and should they go for him in the summer, Madrid will drag up their old interest in De Gea.
