Reports: Real Madrid interest in Lucas Silva opens door for Sami Khedira to join Arsenal or Chelsea for just £10m

Real Madrid are intensifying their efforts to sign highly-rated Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva in January, which would pave the way for Sami Khedira to join Arsenal or Chelsea, reports the Daily Express. Furthermore, The Express report that Real Madrid are willing to accept a £10 million offer for Khedira.
Khedira was believed to be wanted by both Premier League clubs this summer, and his current deal at the Bernabeu expires at the end of the season. Rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer, the Champions League holders are prepared to sell him for a reduced fee in January if they can bring in Silva.
Guillem Balague: Chelsea have “convinced” Sami Khedira to join
Madrid are reportedly willing to accept a deal worth around £10 million for Khedira, who is currently out of action with a knee injury.
The La Liga club believe Silva has a big future in the game, and the 21-year-old is top of their shortlist of potential replacements for the Germany international in the January transfer window.
Khedira joined Madrid from Stuttgart after his impressive displays in the 2010 World Cup, and he has won La Liga, the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Copa del Rey during his time in Spain.
