Here Is How Liverpool Should Lineup Against Newcastle – Start Borini With Balo

Newcastle vs Liverpool Predicted Lineup
The late goals against Swansea in the Capitol One Cup mid-week was uplifting for the Reds, if anything. Brendan Rodgers’ Reds gave a good account of themselves against a resilient Swansea side who were prepared to wait out the game. With one eye on the trip to the Bernebeu on Tuesday, Rodgers’ travels to St. James’ Park to face Alan Pardew’s Newcastle who have seen a change in fortunes recently. Here is how the Reds might line-up :-
Fabio Borini
Fabio Borini
Formation : 4-4-2 (Diamond)
Simon Mignolet
The Belgian picks himself in the team as the undisputed first-choice keeper at Melwood. A week’s rest ought to have done the Belgian some good as the heads back to the line-up after many critics questioning his command as a top-flight goal-keeper.
Javier Manquillo
The 20 year old was one of the brighter players in a Red shirt against the Swans. Squaring up against the lightning quick Jefferson Montero, Manquillo put in a performance worthy of a lot of praise. He keeps his place in the starting .
Martin Skrtel
The Slovakian centre-half is Liverpool’s best centre-half bar none. Having got a dereved rest mid-week, Skrtel would be expected to slot right back into the back-four against a resurgent Newcastle side.
Dejan Lovren
If the winner against Swansea would have done anything for Lovren, it would be that the Croat would have gained a whole of confidence from it. After enduring a difficult start to his Liverpool career, Lovren will look to use that goal to spark his stuttering Reds career.
Alberto Moreno
Despite having a pretty good game at left-back, Glen Johnson would most likely make way for young Alberto Moreno in the left full-back position. The pacey Spaniard will slot straight back into the back-four and look to upturn his for that seems to be going downhill lately.
Steven Gerrard
The skipper will come back into the starting 11 in his deep lying playmaker position for the Newcastle game. The 34 year-old English international will look to carry on the good work the Reds midfield put in against the Swans when they take on the Magpies.
Joe Allen
Welsh midfielder Joe Allen will most probably sit beside Gerrard in midfield and control the midfield. After having missed out on the Swans game mid-week, Allen would be expected to start against Newcastle as the Reds look to get their campaign back on track.
Emre Can
The young German midfielder will continue to hold down his Premier League starting spot for the 3rd week running. Can adds another dimension to the Reds midfield and will eventually be a vital cog in the Reds midfield for years to come.
Adam Lallana
After a bright couple of weeks, the spark of the creative midfielder kind of died down. However, against a stubborn Newcastle side, Lallana’s creativity might just be the key to getting the 3 points away from home.
Fabio Borini
A determined performance against Swansea mid-week to say the least will ensure the Italian striker holds his spot in the XI against Newcastle. Still a long way from proving his critics wrong, at least Borini has started out on the right note.
Mario Balotelli
Mario Balotelli is an enigmatic striker who on his day can take on any defence in the world, Reds fans will be hoping his days come more often than they have recently. A goal against Swansea must ease up the pressure on the Italian and give him the space he needs to start hitting the back of the net regularly.

Eden Hazard vs Neymar – Who Is The Best Young Winger In The World?

Eden Hazard (Chelsea) vs Neymar (Barcelona)
Note: this is actually the part two of the comparison article which we published earlier.
Eden Hazard vs Luis Suarez – Is The Chelsea Winger As Good As El Pistolero?
Now, we move on as we look into Neymar Dos Santos of Barcelona and Eden Hazard of Belgium. They are probably the future of the beautiful game and we have often come across comparisons between the two players. But who is better?
neymar-1982269 Eden Hazard vs Neymar - Who Is The Best Young Winger In The World?
Neymar
Neymar with his characteristic hairstyle and nose tape has become a fashion icon and his performances on the field took a hit last year. This year though, he has been in starling form scoring in almost every other match. Yet issues with consistence and the issue of bogging down after initial outbursts seem to be a cause of concern. His antics-especially diving and over acting for a foul-has created many a negative opinion about the Brazilian Forward.
Neymar’s strengths are quite similar to that of Eden Hazard. Dribbling is certainly on top of that list. His passing too is something that not many forwards can boast. At the end of the day though, the writer feels that Eden Hazard, at least as of now, is a better player than Neymar and the very fact that we can’t compare them through a statistical point of view as they’re part of two different leagues makes it harder for us to compare. So let’s have a look without statistics..
  1. Eden Hazard is miles ahead of Neymar when it comes to defensive capabilities. Jose Mourinho stresses that each and every player played his part in defence as well. Mourinho actually sold Juan Mata, a two time Chelsea Player of the Year as he didn’t do his job defensively and Eden Hazard has learnt from that.
  1. On his day, Neymar’s dribbling skills are as good as anyone but on others, he looks as though he is holidaying and is pedestrian on the field. These are the times that you wonder whether you need to play him. Eden Hazard though, even if he has a bad day, (which is rare) ensures that he has a say on the match. And this is one reason why he is lethal day in and day out.
  1. Neymar’s antics on and off the field like diving, his nose tape and what not have made him many critics. His diving especially has damaged his image and has made referees cautious while making decisions involving him. These traits of Neymar certainly put Hazard ahead.
  1. Last but not the least, Hazard’s work rate is much more than Hazard’s. This is a follow up to point one actually as Mourinho’s tactics have made hazard work much more than his colleagues in the same position.
After having a look at the above mentioned points, it is clearly Hazard who is the better player among the two.
Now, we go back to step one. Is Hazard better than Suarez? At least as of now, no. Neymar? A certain yes. We have discussed in detail, I think and I’ve finally come to a conclusion and I do hope that you have too.

“He just has to play” – Paul Scholes expects Louis van Gaal to replace Juan Mata with Wayne Rooney

Posted on October 31, 2014

Paul Scholes has revealed that he expects Louis van Gaal to replace Juan Mata for Wayne Rooney for the Manchester Derby.
Rooney, 29, is available for the first time since the 27th of September following his professional foul on West Ham winger Stewart Downing.
There had been question marks over the fitness of Rooney this week, but reports yesterday suggested that he is ready to start and Van Gaal is expected to start him.
Wayne Rooney set to start against Man City – reports
During Rooney’s absence, 26-year-old Juan Mata replaced him in the Man United team. However, the Spanish playmaker hasn’t impressed or produced displays which will give Van Gaal a selection headache.
Scholes claims that last week’s clash with Chelsea seemed to ‘pass’ the former Chelsea midfielder.
Scholes wrote in his Independent column: “As for United, my key change would be Wayne Rooney back in for Juan Mata. I cannot see Louis van Gaal doing any different.
“The Chelsea game just seemed to pass Mata by on Sunday and that is what will count against him. He seemed to be overpowered. Rooney has a great record against City and he just has to play.”
Mata despite scoring two goals this season has failed to make a significant impact for the Red Devils. The former Chelsea man is known for his playmaking abilities, but Mata has only assisted one goal this season.
Juan Mata has completed 92% of his passes this season.

Manchester United must fear City backlash

The shift in power in the City of Manchester since Sheikh Mansour arrived has been stark, to say the least.
United have gone from footballing heavyweights to pushovers, while City have forgotten their past as Premier League part-timers to become big-hitters at the top of the table. Manchester's red side look like they are closing the gap on their now superior rivals after a lavish summer of spending, but City are most certainly favourites going into this Sunday's derby.
City have won the last 3 clashes between the sides, including a sweeping 3-0 victory at Old Trafford in March of this year, but United, down in 8th in the table after finishing 7th last season, will take hope from City's glaring inconsistencies this season.
Manuel Pellegrini's elaborately assembled squad have misfired of late, punctuating a recent run of 3 consecutive wins with draws in the Champions League, and they have followed up those results with a loss at West Ham last weekend before crashing out of the Capital One Cup at home to Newcastle in the week.
They have won just 6 out of 15 competitive games this season, losing the Community Shield to Arsenal, off the pace at the top of the Premier League, out of the League Cup and looking like they could fail to make it out of their Champions League group.
A reliance on Sergio Agüero, who has scored 11 of their 22 league and European goals this season, is unacceptable for a team of their riches and a squad of their depth. Agüero tore Tottenham apart recently and when he is not shackled City can be simply devastating, but without him against Newcastle they lacked cutting edge and against a more defensively organised West Ham they could only find a goal via the genius of David Silva.
Silva himself arguably is not producing the level of return that a player of his quality should. He has just 2 assists in 12 Premier and Champions League appearances this season, both of which came in the win at a leaky Hull side. While Agüero can make do without Silva's service and fashion chances of his own, City's other forwards need more from their main creator.

Although their form in cup competitions has been below par and they are already six points behind Chelsea at the top of the Premier League, they are actually one point better off this season than they were at the same stage a year ago. What is more, they have already faced Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal this season.
In league games, City are averaging more possession (58.1%), a better pass success rate (85.2%), more shots (17.4), more tackles (21.3), more interceptions (14.0) and more dribbles (10.8) than they did last season, too, so there is an argument to say that in the league at least, it could be more a case of Chelsea's vast improvement than City's demise.
There are, however, issues to be dealt with for Pellegrini and this weekend will provide a true test of his ability to manage his wobbling squad.
The players need no greater motivation than a Manchester derby, in which City have produced some of their best displays in recent years and there is every chance of another one, and with it a City backlash, this Sunday.

Reports: Wayne Rooney could start instead of Robin van Persie for Man Utd against Man City

Wayne Rooney could replace Robin van Persie in the Manchester United team against rivals Manchester City on Sunday, reports the Daily Mail.
Rooney has been suspended for United’s last three games after being shown a straight red card in the 2-1 win against West Ham, but the captain is eligible for selection again, and Louis Van Gaal has told him he will start against City. He has scored three goals and registered two assists in six league appearances this season.
The 29-year-old had been playing in the number ten role before his suspension, but Robin van Persie could make way for him up front after a number of quiet displays.

Van Persie scored a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea, but his overall game has been disappointing so far this season. He knows Louis van Gaal very well from their time working together for the Netherlands national team, though the manager’s presence at Old Trafford has not brought out the best in Van Persie as expected.
City are currently third in the table, four points ahead of United, though the defending champions have failed to win in their last three fixtures.
Rooney has a chance conversion rate of 25% in the Premier League this season.

Liberia Ebola crisis far from over , says WHO

2014-10-30 08:24

Geneva - The rate of new Ebola infections appears to be slowing in hard-hit Liberia, but the crisis is far from over, the World Health Organisation said on Wednesday.
"It appears that the trend is real in Liberia and there may indeed be a slowing of the epidemic there," WHO assistant director-general Bruce Aylward told reporters in Geneva.
"There is increasing evidence that these countries can get on top of this," he said.
Aylward added, though, that he was "terrified that the information will be misinterpreted and that people will begin to think Ebola is under control".
"That is like thinking your pet tiger is under control," he warned, pointing out that the deadly outbreak had seemed to slow previously only to come back with more virulence.
The Ebola outbreak that has been ravaging west Africa has claimed 4 922 lives, according to the latest update from the WHO. The vast majority of the deaths were in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
Controversy over quarantine measures
Washington meanwhile ordered a 21-day quarantine for all US troops returning from west Africa, as controversy raged over the US government's attempts to prevent the spread of Ebola.
The move exposed a split between the US military and other government agencies, with civilian health workers subjected to less strict measures than American soldiers.
President Barack Obama hailed "heroic" US health workers battling Ebola, seeking to reassure the public amid the controversy over quarantine measures imposed by some authorities including the Pentagon.
Speaking at the White House after meeting with returned health workers including Kent Brantly, an American doctor infected with the often-deadly disease in Liberia, Obama said those who volunteer on the front lines "deserve our gratitude, and they deserve to be treated with dignity and with respect. "
He defended the "sensible, scientific" guidelines set out by the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday.
The CDC has urged active monitoring of those at risk, meaning they must be checked for fever daily for 21 days and must restrict their travel and public activities for the duration of the virus's incubation period.
13 703 Ebola cases
Aylward said that the number of Ebola cases had soared to 13 703 - up from just over 10 000 the WHO reported on Saturday - but he stressed that the increase was mainly due to previously unreported cases being added to the statistics.
Liberia counted 6 535 cases, Sierra Leone had 5 235 and Guinea, where the outbreak began late last year, counted 1 906, he said.
Neighbouring Mali, where a two-year-old girl died from Ebola following a long bus ride from Guinea, had not yet detected any new infections, he added.
Aylward said data from a range of different sources - including from funeral directors and from treatment centres reporting lower Ebola patient admission rates - indicated a "downward trend" across much of Liberia.
A number of beds at Ebola treatment centres in the country were now empty, he said.
A rapid scaling up of information to the community about the deadly virus, contact tracing and implementation of safe burial practices had likely contributed to the positive trend seen in Liberia, Aylward said.
His cautious optimism on the situation in Liberia came a day after Obama and the Red Cross offered hope that progress was being made in the battle against the killer virus.
Obama insisted the disease "will be defeated". He also stressed that science, not fear, should guide the response to the virus.
US quarantines troops
There has been growing condemnation of Washington's rush to quarantine people who have come into contact with those suffering from Ebola, amid fears such strict measures could dissuade much-needed healthcare workers and others from travelling to the affected region.
Only two people have been infected with the virus on US soil, and both have been declared cured.
Nonetheless, California announced a new 21-day quarantine for anyone travelling from Ebola-afflicted countries who has had contact with someone infected with the disease. The move comes after similar measures were adopted in New Jersey and New York.
Also on Wednesday, Pentagon chief Chuck Hagel ordered a three-week quarantine for all US troops returning from west Africa, calling it a "prudent" measure to prevent the spread of the virus.
Hagel said the measure was adopted partly because military families urged the quarantine.
There are now about 1 100 US troops in Liberia and Senegal, with plans to boost the force to as many as 4 000 soldiers.
Meanwhile, the WHO said its main priority was still to increase the number of treatment centres in west Africa.
Anthony Banbury, the head of the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER), said more than 50 treatment centres were needed but only 33 had been set up.
The mission also faces challenges in deciding where to deploy its limited resources, he said at the office's Accra headquarters.
"We have to make sure though that the beds are placed at the right locations and that depends on good information on exactly where the disease is," Banbury said.

Quarantines rarely used, effectiveness questioned

Hickox said Wednesday she plans to stop quarantining herself in rural Maine, signaling a potential showdown with state police monitoring her home and state officials preparing to legally enforce the quarantine. ASHINGTON (AP) — The Spanish flu pandemic a century ago prompted the last large-scale quarantines in this country. Now the Ebola outbreak is raising new questions about whether ordering quarantines is an effective way to fight deadly disease in the U.S.
Health experts say putting people into quarantine can be appropriate on a case-by-case basis. In a high-profile case in 2007, an Atlanta man believed to have a rare, extremely drug-resistant form of tuberculosis was ordered into federal quarantine after returning to the country from his wedding overseas. Later tests found a less dangerous form of TB.
Experts have criticized Govs. Andrew Cuomo of New York and Chris Christie of New Jersey for announcing quarantines for health workers returning from West Africa, where the Ebola virus is raging. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced less restrictive guidelines with different recommendations aimed at different groups.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon announced plans to go further than the CDC guidelines and put troops returning from Ebola response missions in West Africa in quarantine for 21 days — the incubation period for Ebola.
WHAT ARE THE LATEST FEDERAL RECOMMENDATIONS?
The CDC now recommends that people who are at highest risk for coming down with Ebola avoid commercial travel or attending large public gatherings, even if they have no symptoms.
Its updated advice to state and local officials separates people who've been around Ebola into categories. Those at highest risk are anyone who's had direct contact with an Ebola patient's body fluids, including health care workers who suffer a needle-stick injury during a patient's care.
Active monitoring is also recommended for people at some risk — those who've been in close contact with an Ebola patient — or low risk — those who've been in a country with widespread transmission.
WHAT ARE STATES DOING?
There's a range of responses from states, and some have yet to announce their approaches since the updated CDC guidelines were announced Monday.
New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois, Georgia, Florida and Maine are among those announcing 21-day quarantines for health care workers and others at risk arriving from Ebola zones in West Africa. Details of the quarantine procedures vary.
Connecticut has announced plans to quarantine people on a case-by-case basis.
The state approaches face a test from Kaci Hickox, the nurse who was confined to a tent in New Jersey after returning from West Africa. New Jersey officials discharged her home to Maine. She is fighting the home quarantine procedures there.
WHAT IS THE MILITARY DOING?
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Wednesday announced a 21-day quarantine period for troops returning from West Africa, where nearly 1,000 of them have deployed to support efforts to combat the virus. Details were still being worked out.
Hagel said the policy had been sought by communities and families of members of the military. Although the move goes beyond CDC guidelines, President Barack Obama has made clear he feels the military's situation is different in part because troops are not in West Africa by choice.
WHEN HAVE QUARANTINES BEEN USED BEFORE IN THE U.S.?
Large-scale quarantines were used frequently during disease outbreaks in the 19th and early 20th centuries, including the influenza pandemic in 1918. Experts say it's not clear such quarantines were very effective.
In some cases, entire populations were isolated, such as a quarantine of Chinatown in San Francisco in 1900 in response to the bubonic plague. The quarantine order was struck down by a court after an outcry by residents.
Such large-scale quarantines have largely fallen into disuse with the rise of modern medicine, vaccines and antibiotics.
More recently, the spread of tuberculosis led authorities to quarantine individuals to make sure they were taking their medicine and following other protocols. More than 100 TB patients were detained in New York City between 1993 and 1995.
WHAT ABOUT ELSEWHERE?
The SARS epidemic led to large-scale quarantines in Asia and Canada in 2003, including around 30,000 people quarantined in Toronto, mostly at home. There's disagreement about whether the quarantine in Toronto was effective. Some believe it did limit the spread of the outbreak, while others say it was ineffective and inefficient and noncompliance was a problem.
WHAT ARE EXPERTS' CONCERNS ABOUT QUARANTINES FOR EBOLA?
Experts note that unlike SARS and the flu, Ebola is not easily spread to others by coughing or sneezing. Instead it requires direct contact with a sick person's bodily fluids while they are showing symptoms of the disease. So they question the need to quarantine people who are not showing symptoms.
Health officials also agree that the best way to protect the U.S. from the disease is to end the outbreak in West Africa. Doctors, nurses and other health workers are badly needed there, and experts worry that imposing quarantines here at home could discourage those volunteers.
"Being overbroad, being draconian is not necessarily the best way to keep us safe," said Wendy Parmet, a health policy expert at Northeastern University School of Law.
