Manchester United‘s young goalkeeper Joel Pereira is continuing rehabilitation on a back injury he suffered.

Pereira, who turned 18 in June, is one of United’s up and coming goalkeepers who is being brought through into the Under-21s this season.
He has already made two appearances for the Under-21s so far this year but wants to make more as the season progresses.
There is plenty of competition for goalkeeping places at every level inside United but Sam Johnstone‘s recent indication he could be leaving the club, either on loan or permanently, could give Pereira far more opportunities.
Speaking to the official United website earlier in the summer, Pereira gave some insight into what his ambitions were: “I just have to concentrate on myself and train hard, making sure I work hard to achieve something.
“Obviously, I want to play some games with the Under-21s and I want to gain as many appearances as I can with Warren Joyce’s team and try to progress.”
With so many goalkeepers in United’s lower ranks, it is inevitable that the majority of them won’t be able to have a career at United but time will tell if Pereira has what it takes to make it all the way to the first team.
