Arsenal could be halted in their attempts to sign out-of-favour Barcelona star Pedro after it is said that he is on the verge of signing a new deal to keep him at the club, Mirror reports.
The 27-year-old is believed to be unhappy with his very limited role under Luis Enrique, but the Catalan club are keen to tie him down on a new contract in order to make sure he remains in Spain.
Arsene Wenger is considering the Spanish attacking as a possible replacement for either Lukas Podolski or Santi Cazorla who are both being linked with an exit.
The La Liga side are currently in negotiations over a suitable price with £10million set as the benchmark to the ongoing talks.
It will be almost impossible for the likes of Pedro to break into the first team’s attacking line up which consist of Neymar, Lionel Messi and most recently Luis Suarez.
After falling down the Camp Nou pecking order, it is high unlikely that the winger will be selecting to extend his current contract, opening up even more possibilities for his departure.
