After the somewhat endless reports over the fitness of Ander Herrera and Micheal Carrick ahead of Man United’s clash with West Brom, the Telegraph report that another midfielder,  Ashley Young is set to return to the Red Devils squad on Monday.
Young, 29, had been out with a groin problem, the injury has resulted in him missing Man United’s last four Premier League games. The midfielder has reportedly recovered from the problem and is expected to be in Louis van Gaal’s squad for West Brom.
The midfielder, who signed for £17 million back in 2011 has seen his role at Man United change somewhat. During Van Gaal’s early try-outs of the 3-5-2 system, Young played as a wing-back. However, with the Dutchman now changing his system to a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, Young is likely to play in a midfield role again.
Young was linked with a move away this summer, but the 29-year-old impressed during Man United’s pre-season tour producing some professional performances.
The former Aston Villa winger now faces a challenge of getting back into the Red Devils starting eleven, as Van Gaal has appeared to have found a winning team.
