Arsenal have stepped up their efforts .
And Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will look to snap up the 20-year-old if Lukas Podolski decides to quit the club in the new year.
Arsenal scouts watched Talisca in action for Brazil's U-21s side against Bolivia on Friday.
Talisca has impressed for Benfica during the opening months of the season and is currently the top scorer in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Arsenal and PSG were both interested in signing the 23-year-old winger, but he opted to join Spanish champs Atletico.
The French star said: "Was it weird when PSG and Arsenal were also interested? [Atletico are] still the champions of Spain!
"I needed a club like that and a coach like Diego Simeone to progress. I always demands intensity in training. That's my style and I like it."
Emmanuel Emenike
Arsenal are monitoring .
Reports in Turkey have suggested Wenger has added the Nigeria international to his shortlist ahead of the January transfer window.
Emenike scored 12 goals last season for Fenerbahce, but has managed just one strike so far this campaign.
Turkish champs Fenerbahce value the 27-year-old close to £15m.
