Mesut Ozil has put paid to rumours that he’s already played his last game for Arsenal by confirming his commitment to the Gunners on Twitter.
Reports had emerged that the German, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, would leave for Bayern Munich in a £30 million move before he had regained full fitness.
However, The World Cup winner has since moved to dismiss speculation about his future by declaring that he’s by no means done at the Emirates.
‘Thanks for your support following my injury,’ he wrote.
‘I’ll come back on the pitch soon as I can to help #AFC. Now and in the future.’
The 25-year-old also seemed to directly reference the Bayern rumours by writing ‘#MiaSanArsenal’ at the end of the tweet.
‘Mia san mia’, which loosely translates into English as ‘we are who we are’, is a popular chant among Bayern fans, but by the looks of things Ozil won’t be hearing them sing it any time soon.
