Roma received a major boost on Monday with the news that Kevin Strootman returned to training.
The Dutch midfielder has been linked with Manchester United for a couple of years now and Louis van Gaal is heavily tipped to move for Strootman in January.
The 24-year-old has been out of action since picking up a knee injury in March 2014 which saw Strootman miss the World Cup.
It was such a big blow to Louis van Gaal that the-then Holland boss changed his formation for the World Cup in Brazil.
Roma have constantly said they would not be selling Strootman but if he can return to his former consistency in the midfield, it would be a surprise were Manchester United not to make a move in the winter or next summer.
Manchester United must still be kicking themselves for not moving to sign Strootman when he left PSV in July 2013 for just 17 million euros.
