Cristiano Ronaldo has at various times flirted with the idea of returning to Manchester United. His most recent effort led to calls that he was simply after another Real Madrid contract but the reality may be a little simpler, Ronaldo will love the attention, praise, and adulation those comments bring and it can't be bad to know that much of a fan base of one of the world's biggest clubs are desperate for you to play for them again.
The summer cold war between Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made a move seem possible. Had relations between the two deteriorated further then it was possible Ronaldo's future could have been brought into the equation, the player himself had already spoken out against Perez's activity in the summer transfer window.
However, that looks to be fixed and Mendes has blown a kiss to Perez in quite a public way by insisting that Ronaldo won't be leaving Real Madrid and going to Manchester United or anywhere else. Mendes has said that Ronaldo could continue at Real Madrid until he is 40 years old and will continue to break record after record.
Mendes spoke to Cadena Cope and ABC have picked up the quotes "He is very happy in Madrid, it is impossible to get Cristiano from Real Madrid.
"You'll never find one like him. He's getting better and will be getting better until age 40. Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid and has always been happy. He's going to break all the records that can be beat at the white club and will retire here.
"He has the love of Manchester United because his heart was there for six years, but now he just thinks of Real Madrid and will always be here."
That pretty much sounds like that, until everyone falls out once again.
