STEPHANE Zubar says he is desperate to show Port Vale what he can do as he looks to get his career back on track.
The 27-year-old defender is set to be in the squad for tomorrow's game at Fleetwood (3pm) after joining the Valiants on a month's loan from Bournemouth.
Zubar's career on the south coast stalled after he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in March 2013 which put him out of the game for nine months.
But he's fully fit and eager to take his chance at Vale having spent a spell training with Crewe earlier this season.
The Guadeloupe international said: "I have a lot to give. I am hungry and I really want to show what I can do.
"That is a pressure, but I think it is a good pressure. I am not scared of that, I am looking forward to it."
Zubar impressed interim manager Rob Page while playing in central defence alongside Chris Robertson for the reserves in Tuesday's 3-0 win at Shrewsbury.
But he may have to settle for a place on the bench tomorrow.
He is then likely to get his chance when Ryan McGivern is away with Northern Ireland and misses the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game at Preston on Tuesday and the home league game with Yeovil next Saturday.
Zubar added: "My best position is centre-back, but I can also play right-back. But it is up to the manager. I just want to give him that option and I hope I have the opportunity to play.
"You have to make sure you are ready because League One is not easy. The manager needed someone who is ready straight away. I think that's why he wanted me to play against Shrewsbury."
For now, Zubar isn't looking beyond the end of his month's loan. He says he is focusing on impressing Page and trying to help the third-from-bottom Valiants up the table.
He added: "The manager knows what he wants. I have also spoken to the chairman who told me this is a great opportunity."
