Super-agent Jorge Mendes has ruled out Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester Unitedthough hypothetically named a figure in which United would have to pay for his services.
The Portuguese superstar has long been linked with a return to Old Trafford and the rumour mill goes into overdrive every time he confesses his love for the Red Devils.
There is little doubt he holds the Manchester club close to his heart, but the pull of becoming arguably the greatest ever player to wear the famous white of Real Madrid is bigger.
In an exclusive interview reported by the Spanish publication AS, super-agent Jorge Mendes has revealed that a return to United is not going to happen.
“Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid and has always been happy," he said. "He will break all the records that are out there with Real and he will retire here.”
“He has affection for United because he was there six years and is very respectful to people who showed him affection, but he is to death with his club and the Madrid fans. He only thinks about Madrid and he will always be here. He is very happy, he feels loved and recognized.”
Mendes went on to say that he has never received an offer for Ronaldo from the Premier League outfit, before revealing hypothetically how much a club would have to pay to prise him away from the Spanish capital.
“I haven’t received any offers from anybody because people know it’s impossible to take Cristiano from Madrid, therefore there would be no point in asking about him," he said. “Hypothetically, his price is the price which his clause states: One billion euros.”
