Hazard v Chambers among 3 key battles when Chelsea host Arsenal

The showpiece game of the weekend will involve many interesting personal contests

Hazard v Chambers among 3 key battles when Chelsea host Arsenal

There’s nothing to take the sheen off an Arsene Wenger anniversary celebration like a trip to Stamford Bridge, where Arsenal return to the scene of last season’s worst mauling at the hands of Chelsea.
Surely lightning won’t strike twice as Arsenal bring the only other in-tact unbeaten record across London, but for those of a sadistic nature, Chelsea to win 6-0 once again is a cool 175/1.
However, here at New.Ladbrokes we are expecting more of contest and here’s where we see the some of the most result-shaping battles at the Bridge.
Danny Welbeck v John Terry
Thierry Henry, your having a laugh. However, a first career hat-trick in the Champions League no less, shed light on the capabilities of Welbz as a trusted centre forward.
He may be light years away from realistic comparison with the Gunners legend, but with pace and clever movement in abundance he’s sure to prove a handful for his former England teammate’s stiffening legs.
Welbeck is an 8/1 shot to open the scoring.
Eden Hazard v Calum Chambers
This could be the clincher. 19-year-old Chambers has shown amazing aptitude to step straight into the limelight without blinking so far for his new club.
However, even in the Champions League he will not have faced many more tricky opponents than Chelsea’s Belgian wing wizard, who delights in tying defenders in the sort of knots it takes to make those balloon animals.
Nemanja Matic v Mesut Ozil
A first Chelsea goal for Serbian powerhouse Matic against Sporting Lisbon will have done wonders for the defensive midfield lynchpin.
While goals are a nice touch, it will be his expert marshalling abilities which Jose Mourinho will be more interested in extracting against Arsenal’s mercurial playmaker who has returned to form.
Hazard is a 19/10 shot to notch any time against Arsenal.
