welbeck-arsenalFormer Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville has tipped Danny Welbeck to become a top class centre forward for Arsenal.
The England striker bagged an impressive hat-trick for the Gunners as they romped to victory at home to Galatasaray, winning 4-1 and securing Arsenal’s first three points in the Champions League this season.
Neville said the former Manchester United attacker’s only issue is his consistency in front of goal, which was the reason Louis van Gaal allowed him to leave Old Trafford.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
It’s about consistency for Danny in a number of areas.
He is playing as a centre-forward regularly. He was in and out of Man United’s team and was also in and out of playing as centre-forward because he was on the left or right wing.
The biggest thing is that his centre-forward play outside the box is sensational – his work-rate, and his touch – but it’s about his consistency of finishing. I think that will come from confidence and belief.
Outside the box he is unplayable at times, he’s a nightmare. He plays against John Terry and Gary Cahill on Sunday and they will not want to play against him. He’s quick, he’s strong and just the last bit has got to be delivered more consistently.
If he can get goals more consistently to his game you’ve got a real top-class centre-forward there.
The youngster announced himself to the Arsenal fans against Galatasaray, after a good but unspectacular start to life in north London, proving his doubters wrong. His speed and strength made him difficult to deal with for the Turkish side’s defenders and he ran riot against Cesare Prandelli’s three-man back-line.
Welbeck was flanked by the pairing of Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, both of whom are diligent and dangerous in equal measure. That trio have one key attribute in common, pace, and with Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla threading balls through to them from the centre, the Gunners were nigh impossible to contain.
On the evidence of this match, Welbeck is settling in at Arsenal every bit as fast as he runs. He gave us a wonderful glimpse of his potential and hopefully he can continue this form against Chelsea this weekend.
