DIEGO LOPEZ will only return against Fiorentina, along with Marco Van Ginkel.
Jeremy Menez and Giacomo Bonaventura got injured during this international break (right adductor muscle & mild edema in his right thigh respectively) but according to Thursday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, both of them should be ready to face Hellas Verona on October 19th.
Menez will now rest and get treatment for a few days and next week he’ll be checked on again; if all goes well, he’ll resume group training next Tuesday in view of the trip to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi. Gazzetta suggests that Milan are calm and optimistic about Menez’s availability for the match with Hellas. The MRI yesterday showed no lesions, only a small hematoma and when it’s healed, he’ll get back to training.
The pink newspaper also notes that there are no worries regarding the situation of Bonaventura and the player, who is expected to return to full trainings early next week (he spent the session in the gym yesterday). Hachim Mastour meanwhile has returned to training with the group after not being 100% fit (he was left out of the last few squad lists for the games).
Diego Lopez was also expected to return against Hellas, but as highlighted by Gazzetta in today’s issue, the goalkeeper, who suffered a thigh injury last month, is likelier to face Fiorentina on October 26th. Marco Van Ginkel is also set to return against the Viola while Riccardo Saponara, who underwent knee surgery, will get back in late October or in early November.
Riccardo Montolivo remains the last one to return from injury and Gazzetta claims again that he will most probably return after the next international break, in time to face Inter at San Siro on November 23rd. Inzaghi is waiting for his players.
