Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s injury ‘nothing serious’

David Silva plays down fears about Diego Costa's fitness by saying that striker's injury is not serious

David Silva has moved to play down fears about Diego Costa’s fitness by insisting that the injury which forced him out of Spain duty is “nothing serious”.

The Chelsea forward was forced to withdraw from Spain’s opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia due to a hamstring problem.
Costa, who joined the Blues from Atlético Madrid this summer, has returned to London to undergo further tests with Chelsea’s medical team.
But his Spain team-mate Silva says that the injury is not anything to be concerned about.
Silva said: “I saw Costa was doing well and I talked to him. The injury is nothing serious.”
On Friday, a Spanish FA spokesman said: “This injury was detected on magnetic resonance imaging performed at noon, after the problem was reported by the player following the game against France.
“All imaging tests and findings will be sent to the medical department of Chelsea. The club and its medical team have already been in contact with the national medical staff.”
