West Ham captain Kevin Nolan believes his teammates can beat Manchester United on Saturday.
But he said it's the form of his own side which gives him hope, rather than United's defensive collapse against newly promoted Leicester City last weekend.
The Hammers, meanwhile, saw off Liverpool in style and that has given the team confidence ahead of the trip to Old Trafford.
"It's going to be a tough game," said Nolan. "Let's not forget United have got some fantastic players. I know what happened at the weekend, with a few freak goals sending Leicester on the way. But we're going to go there with a lot of confidence.
"Our boys have done fantastically well in the last few games and we've got no reason to fear them. I genuinely believe we can go there and get a result."
West Ham have impressed with their attacking displays so far this campaign. However, Nolan, who is nearing a return to action following a shoulder injury, said he believed it was down to the quality coming into the club over the summer rather than a change in tactics.
"Belief isn't something we've gained overnight, it's been in the dressing room since I've been in the club," he said.
"We had that belief we'd get into the Premier League then the belief we would stay there. And last year, although we had all those injuries, we had a good season. It was a tough season but a good season.
"This year what the gaffer's been able to do is strengthen the quality of players and they've come with the ethics I know I've tried to instil in every team I've played for and been captain of. The boys have been brilliant."
