Arsenal And Manchester United Want Serie A Winning Defender

Arsenal And Manchester United Want Serie A Winning Defender

Both Arsenal and Manchester United are thought to be keen on a move for Juventus centre back Angelo Ogbonna as the two clubs continue to struggle to find strength in depth at the back.

United manager Louis van Gaal has been criticised heavily for his failure to sign a replacement for Nemanja Vidic in the summer, whilst Arsenal are being hit by injuries yet again and have no room for any more absentees.

This could see both clubs target a defender in the January window and, according to Italian news websiteTuttoMercatoWeb, that could see them make a move for Juventus star Ogbonna.

United are said to be the more interested of the two, particularly with Ogbonna having featured as part of a back three, a formation van Gaal has been eager to implement at Old Trafford.

The Metro suggests a transfer may depend on his appearances between now and January, with a fee in the region of £12million thought to be a starting point.
