Khedira set for Gunners move Arsenal, Latest news update: few seconds ago Arsenal are reported to have agreed a deal with Real Madrid that will see Sami Khedira join the Gunners in the January window. Arsene Wenger was heavily linked with a move for the German international throughout the summer but a deal failed to materialise and he ended up staying at the Bernabeu. However Wenger is keen to end his search for a defensive midfielder once and for all by bringing Khedira to the Emirates Stadium when the window re-opens. Negotiations between both clubs are said to be on going and reports have claimed that a deal has been agreed in principle that will see the Gunners fork out £11million for his services. Khedira is due to fall out of contract in the summer and Real are keen to recoup some cash before he becomes available on a free transfer. However, Bayern Munich could still throw a spanner in the works, as it has been suggested the German champions are pushing for him to run his contract down before signing a bumper deal with them next summer. Real would obviously prefer the Arsenal deal and have agreed terms, but now everything hinges on Khedira and where he wants to play.
