Defender Gerard Pique could be in line for a return to Manchester United from Barcelona during the January transfer window.
Reports today claim that United boss Louis van Gaal is lining up a bid for the centre-back in order to shore up his ailing defence.
Pique signed a new deal with Spanish giants Barcelona in May, keeping him at the Nou Camp until 2019, but United have shown a willingness to spend big this summer and may consider a hefty bid.
The 27-year-old was a youth player at Barcelona before joining United in 2004 but her returned to Spain four years later after making just 12 Premier League appearances.
