So that's it. Pack up the fax machines, pop Jim White back in his shoebox and tuck him up in the airing cupboard until January - transfer deadline day is over.
And for once, it wasn't a complete anti-climax as two big deals went right down to - and even past - the deadline with Radamel Falcao joining Manchester United on a year-long loan from Monaco and Danny Welbeck sealing a shock last-minute switch to Arsenal.
