Atletico star happy in Spain despite Chelsea and Man United interest
Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda has revelaed he is happy at the club amid reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Brazilian was a key player last season as Atletico claimed their first La Liga title since 1996, making 45 appearances in all competitions.
However, following that success, many of the club's star players have left - including top scorer Diego Costa, who joined Chelsea for £32m this summer.
Miranda himself was linked with a move to the Premier League during the recent transfer window, but the 30-year-old believes it was the right decision to stay in Spain.
"It was better for me and for my family to stay where we are," Miranda told AS.
"I am happy being a Rojiblanco. I love Madrid as a city and Atlético is a great club. It's normal [there are speculations] when footballers are at clubs who are successful."
