Young signed for United from Aston Villa at the age of 25, and has since gone on to win one Premier League title and three Community Shields.
Now, at the age of 29, the England international has become a senior member at Old Trafford.
And Young claims he's always on hand to help both new and young players integrating into the first-team.
"At the start of pre-season we were going through age order and I found myself at number six or seven and I thought 'wow, I am starting to get old now!" he said.
"Being 29 you start to become one of the more senior players and I felt like that on tour.
"It puts more pressure on you but it’s how you deal with that pressure - you want to be there to help the youngsters that are coming through into the first team.
"I think that showed in pre-season how the seniors help the youngsters and also help each other and all talk together on the pitch.
"We’ve got one captain but when you're out there on the pitch it's like there is 11."
